Vacation Bible School 2015
Aloha from the Lehigh Seventh Day Adventist Church Vacation Bible School (VBS).
Vacation Bible School took place during the week of Monday, July 20, 2015 through Friday, July 24, 2015. This year’s theme was Destination Paradise. The fellowship hall was tropically decorated with palm trees, colorful pictures and host of other things depicting this joyous theme.
The symbol of affection focused on five themes; God’s love for all creation, God’s Grace in our lives, God’s Care for us, God Acts on our behalf and in the end God Wins. The children and youth had an exciting time learning about God and singing songs that reflected each theme, of which they performed during their graduation on Saturday evening July 25, 2015. At the end of the ceremony they all received certificates, lei’s and picked up their handmade crafts that they worked on during the week. This finale also included refreshments served in the fellowship hall to VBS participants and visitors alike.
Elder Williams had a wonderful team of volunteers that worked tirelessly to make Vacation Bible School (VBS) a success. At the beginning of VBS there were 74 children and 28 volunteers, and at the end there were 114 children and 42 helpers (75% of the children that attended VBS were from the community). There were many donors that made contributions, music leaders contributing their time, committees that provided food and transportation, prayer warriors, guardians, grandparents, and children that traveled from out of state to attend VBS.
Our pastor Dr. Newton Hoilette was very pleased with the leadership and the outreach that Lehigh Seventh Day Adventist Church provided to the community and members. He extends an Aloha welcome to you, to attend and/or be a part of the team that will make next year’s 2016 Vacation Bible School an even greater success.
